The air attack warning sounds like. This is the sound
S
When you hear the air attack warning, you and your family must take cover
Lets go
Name: S. (her real name's Estelle with no last name, but no one knows that; also, when among civilians, S will use Estelle as her name)
Age: 21
Race: gifted
Height: 5' 7"
Weight: 118 lbs.
Appearance: clickS has long blond hair, greenish eyes, an almost flawless complexion and slightly tanned skin. There's a diagonal scar starting on her left shoulder blade and ending halfway down her spine, cutting right behind her heart, from her escape. She also has a tattoo of a pale blue S with thorns right below the scar.
When two tribes go to war,a point is all that you can score
Likes(at least 10):
• arguing. Oh, yes. In another lifetime S would have been a lawyer. The defending and counterattacking, the verbal dueling, it all gives her a thrill.
• mind games. Or any kind of game. S loves solving puzzles, riddles, and impossibilities.
• the cold. what would you expect? Cold means ice; S is like ice. Put two and two together.
• the dark. Darkness means S doesn't have to show her true self. Darkness means she's safe.
• strategizing. It exercises her mind like no other. Plus the more you know your opponent the better you get at tactics.. and S knows Xenon like the back of her hand.
• pretending. it's easier to sleep at night when you believe you've got a reason to live, isn't it? it's also easier to not be overcome with absolute hatred if you pretend your father never did ... any of those things.
• winning. The satisfaction S gets from beating anyone at anything (and then justifying it)... so fulfilling.
• dressing up. S likes to pretend she's a princess and a prince is going to sweep her off her feet--which is so incredibly unlikely it's painful.
• drawing. A leftover childhood talent. S can change anything about the world that she wants to.
• gossiping. this kind of goes along with hating losing (see below). If anyone's more famous than her (which has to be a lot of people in order for her to survive), she likes to bash on them.
Dislikes(at least 10):
• her father. What a lying, cheating b*****d. enough said.
• through her father, the government. S is almost always against anything she knows her father is for. The rest is personal--the government brainwashed her. S is always going to hate them for it.
• losing. When S loses, she's got to prove to everyone in the room that by rights she won. Which is in itself fun, just not the losing part.
• meeting new people. she disguises her actual shyness with her businesslike demeanor
• treason. see: her father. see: betraying his ENTIRE F**KING FAMILY.
• compliments. you might think S likes it because technically she's "winning," but it just makes her feel awkward and inadequate. She's a bit insecure that way.
• physical contact, i.e. hugging. It means getting close to someone, and S cannot take that right now.
• sleeping. Why sleep when you can plan your father's murder instead? And you've always got to be careful, seeing as Xenon agents are still looking for your supposedly dead body.
• making a mistake. It's almost like losing, because one tiny mistake could get someone killed. and then S's self esteem drops like three miles for letting herself make that mistake.
• drinking. It could lead to S's one mistake, or five huge mistakes, or unconsciousness when you have something you need to do.
• hypocrites. who are they to talk?
Fears(at least five):
If you asked her, S would say she fears nothing. S is never afraid. But, you see, there's betrayal. (She has a hard time ever trusting anyone, because all the men in her life betrayed her at one point or another.) And loss, and love, and opening up. See, S finds it difficult to let herself care about someone when she's lost her family and everyone she's ever cared about. In her mind, loving someone means losing them, and opening up to them means loving. So it's all a cycle--opening up to someone will lead to loving them, which will lead to losing them, and ultimately being betrayed by them. As for the last thing, S is afraid of ... well, herself. Of what she's become: this cold, hard monster. But S is good at not thinking about that.
Personality: S would say that she's professional and cunning. However, the first impression she leaves you with would be one of egoism; the proper adjective would be devious, two-faced maybe. If you were to use two words to describe her, you'd probably say "cold fish." Or "sly b*tch." Of course, that's not including the whole snootiness thing. Look at her. Can't you see her slimy arrogance when she turns her nose up at you? Can't you feel the way she acts so superior to you? And she can never change her mind about anything--once she's decided she's set for life. And then she can't be wrong. She just has to prove herself right. Such a stubborn little brat.
Switch off your shield, Switch off and feel
Strengths (at least five): S would say her indifference ("professionalism," she'd call it) is a strength. She'd add intelligence, efficiency, ruthlessness, possibly determination.
Weaknesses (at least five):
• her stubbornness--S refuses to back down, ever. So she gets in trouble when she's arguing with anyone important within Cobalt.
• her pride--when you try to see the "real" S, look in the fine print: will never admit she's wrong. will never ask for help. will never apologize for wrongdoings.
• her father--seriously. Don't ever mention fathers, because S will snap... and she might snap your neck in half in the process.
• her desire to be the best, and only ever the best--S will try to beat you at everything, so you might as well be prepared now. When sharing stories about your adventures, expect S to try to "story-top" them.
• her temper--S is alternately cold and hot. When on "hot," the slightest little insult will send S's vision right into the red... so get ready for a smackdown and possible screaming match. S is slightly better when "cold," but that's only volume-wise. Cold means she hates you... or doesn't even see you because you're so insignificant. And just a warning: cold is S. S is cold. S loves cold. She's almost always cold. Really--I don't want to be you.
Powers: superspeed, illusion, mind control
Limitations: S's speed is combat-only, meaning her body becomes inhumanly agile only when she's fighting or about to fight (her brain has to emit special endorphines that are related to fighting for her super speed to "activate"). Illusion and mind control were her father's choice. Since he was such a master at duplicity he wanted his only surviving child to follow in his footsteps. They became part of herself as she grew so now she uses mind control and illusion (hand in hand) all the time subconsciously. Deep down S hates these two, but she's going to have to use them for the good of Cobalt.
I’m givin’ you back the good times
Family: Her father is the only family S has, but he's been missing for years now, so he's as good as dead. S also has two deceased sisters (well, and a deceased mother).
History: S, her two sisters, and her parents were the happiest family imaginable. Everything was perfect for them--but then the 'rents told their daughters about their gifts. Dad was a master at duplication, illusion, and mind control; Mom was all about her telepathy and telekinesis. For a while after that, the family masqueraded as perfect, but everything was falling apart. S's dad arranged for the entire family to be given up to Xenon agents, then became one of those agents. S was left alive by mistake, but her mom and sisters put up a fight so they were killed. Not understanding what had happened, S found her dad and asked for his help, but she was brainwashed and then forced to learn illusion and mind control so she could be exploited by the government. After being made a Xenon agent, S realized what she had become and began training a third power, super speed. With it she barely escaped from the grasp of the agents pursuing her and disappeared for the next year, left for dead and with a scar across her back, directly behind her heart.
After that one year, which she spent vigorously training in combat, S appeared before the Cobalt leader, to whom she made an appeal to join the renegades. While her escape from Xenon was notorious, it should be noted that she was determined to keep a low profile in Cobalt, which didn't work out. It clashed with her ambition, which she became known for, because she mercilessly pushed aside anyone in her way. S also became known for coldblooded killing, manipulation, and fearlessness. Those in Cobalt who meet her are bound to say that she's working for Xenon, that she's a spy, anything along those lines. But in reality, S has recognized ruthlessness in the government and her father, and she's going to fight them both to the end.

i keep a sinister smile and a hold on my heart
------------------------------------------------------------
Carolina swept out of the Torrence residence at noon with her hair curled, her skinny jeans and halter top perfectly arranged, and her makeup seamless. A flawless façade that covered her raw interior, she noted absentmindedly. She slid into her sleek black convertible and turned the key, then checked her makeup in the rearview mirror. She was determined to get her mind off of everything, especially him. But everything else, too. Cruising along the streets until she reached her favorite coffee place, she parked on the side of the road and hopped out of her car.
“Hey, Lina, you haven’t been in here for a while, have you?” the mildly cute cashier called. Carolina flipped him off good naturedly and smiled. “And why would you care? I’ll have my usual,” she replied. He brought her her usual: decaf latte, chocolate chip muffin, and two dollars, thirty-five cents in change as she handed him her usual ten dollar bill. “I gotta fly, rehearsal’s soon and I wouldn’t want to miss it, would I?” He looked at her strangely and said nothing. Whatever, Lina thought.
She climbed back into her car and sipped the latte cautiously, maneuvering past the slow traffic into the city. She drove past his house. What am I doing here? she thought frustratedly. This is so stupid. I’m so stupid. What was I thinking? She shook her head at herself, turned around, and kept driving until she neared the school, noticing the blond girl from rehearsals on the street. Rose, was it? She called, “Rose!” but the other girl didn’t hear her. Carolina finished her coffee and tossed it into the trash can on the corner of the street. She parked and felt the panic set in, all the stress and nerves that came from being part of the Torrence family. She sat there for a good ten minutes, breathing slowly and calming herself down. Then she opened the car door and stepped up onto the sidewalk. Feeling more like her usual self, she leaned against her windshield and finished the muffin, then dropped the paper wrapper and strutted down the street, though her heart really wasn’t into it anymore. She heard the usual catcalls, performed her usual hair flip and walk, but inside, she felt broken. And useless.
Carolina reached the school doors and slipped inside, then clicked her way towards the theater in her black Jimmy Choos. “Hey!” she called as she spotted the blond girl again. “Rose, right? I’m Carolina.”
